Private Client Department

The Probate Department has over 30 years of collective experience in delivering work in all matters relating to Wills and Estate Administration. The Probate Department has particular experience in administering Estates.

We have three members of the Department who may work on your matter. Regardless of who works on your matter, they will be supervised by Jacqui Miles, Solicitor and Head of the Private Client Department.

Jacqui Miles – Director & Solicitor

Jacqui is the Department Supervisor of the Probate Department and has well over 20 years’ experience in private client work, specialising in complex Wills, Estate and Trust Administration and Inheritance Tax Planning. Jacqui will also work on cases being undertaken by other fee earners in her Department, particularly dealing with the difficult aspects of Estate and Trust Administration and looking after clients’ affairs as Attorney.

Jacqui joined the firm (when we were Walmsley & Barnes) in 1984 and qualified as a Solicitor in 1988 after gaining Honours in the Solicitors final examination in 1986. Jacqui became a Partner in 1989.

Sarah Morris – Paralegal

Sarah started with this firm in 2004 as a Receptionist/Typist. Sarah has progressed her career with the firm since then, spending the majority of her time in the Probate Department.

Sarah was previously a member of CILEX and has passed her Level 3 examinations and half of Level 6. The arrival of 2 daughters has temporarily understandably curtailed her studies!

Sarah became a Paralegal in 2008 and specialises in dealing with Probate and Grants of Administration and has dealt with well over 300 estates since this time. She has a sensitive but pragmatic approach to the efficient administration of estates.

Lauren Revell – Secretary and Trainee Paralegal

Lauren joined the Firm in June 2023 and has a Degree in Law. She hopes to progress her career and qualify one day but, in the meantime, especially as she worked for a number of years in the Care Sector, is able to assist with many aspects especially relating to Powers of Attorneys and looking after the day to day conduct of clients’ affairs.
